89% of Polled PS5 Fans Reject Sony Playerbase Program
A Push Square poll of 1,000 PS5 fans reveals 62% have no interest in Sony's new Playerbase program, with 27% citing security concerns.

Sony announced the initiative on the PS Blog yesterday to "celebrate" the PlayStation community by inserting fans into its games, starting with Gran Turismo 7. The initial phase features one winner selected after a video interview, which the PS Blog describes as a way to "learn about" participants and their "connection to PlayStation."

Push Square describes the terms and conditions as vague, suggesting participants consent to Sony using their likeness and data. PS Blog comments reflect fan skepticism, including one stating, "Nobody asked for this. Bet this won’t last long either. Make games," and another warning, "You are more and more disconnected from reality/your fans by the day. Who wants this? I hope this wont be used to train some f*cking AI."

Push Square expects Sony to receive entries and proceed with the Gran Turismo 7 contest.
