AMD is bringing FSR 4.1, its machine learning-based upscaling technology, to Xbox, the company announced Tuesday. AMD's Jack Huynh said the Xbox version is optimized for Xbox Series X|S and ASUS ROG Xbox handhelds. AMD did not give a date for the console rollout.

FSR 4.1 expands beyond Radeon RX 9000. The upgrade is also coming to Radeon RX 6000-series graphics cards, which Huynh said are tuned and optimized from the 6900 series down to the 6400 class. For the first time, FSR 4.1 is also coming to AMD APUs: all Gorgon Halo and Strix Halo chips for mini desktops and mobile workstations, all Gorgon and Strix Ryzen 9 laptop chips, and the Z2E and Z2A handheld chips.
