Apple locked Wednesday, Sept. 9 for its fall iPhone event, under the name Surprise and Shine. It starts at 10 a.m. Pacific at Apple Park in Cupertino.

This is the first keynote of the Ternus era. Tim Cook steps down as CEO on Sept. 1. Hardware chief John Ternus takes the stage. Marketing lead Greg Joswiak posted the invite Wednesday morning with a glowing Apple logo and the new tagline.

The stream is the usual three doors. YouTube, the Apple Events site, and the Apple TV app. A small press group is invited on campus. The rest of the world watches the stream.

The date is confirmed. The product list is still rumor. Reporting from MacRumors, AppleInsider, and Bloomberg points to iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, plus the foldable iPhone Duo (starts at $1,999; pre-event rumors often called it Ultra). Cheaper iPhone 18 models are widely expected to wait until spring 2027. Apple Watch and home hardware may show up. None of that is on the invite itself.

Labor Day pushed the calendar a day later than usual. Monday, Sept. 7 is the U.S. holiday, so Apple skipped the usual Tuesday slot. The event page is live on The Circuitry at /event/apple-special-event-2026.

The Circuitry is a passion project I've always wanted to build, and I love the work behind it.

Running it costs real money. APIs, hosting, time. To keep improving the site and growing this into something useful for everyone, those costs have to be covered.

Any contribution is appreciated. If not, no pressure. Thanks for reading.
