The European Commission has classified ChatGPT as a Very Large Online Search Engine and Reddit plus Roblox as Very Large Online Platforms under the DSA after each passed 45 million average monthly users in the EU. The step imposes the bloc’s strictest obligations on content moderation, algorithmic systems, data sharing and independent audits, giving the services four months to comply.
All three services have now surpassed an average of 45 million monthly active users across the bloc.

OpenAI has updated ChatGPT with an “Intelligent UI” that generates interactive visual elements alongside text answers. The change, powered by GPT-6, reaches paid users today and free users tomorrow and affects more than a billion users.
OpenAI is gradually releasing its flagship model Astra to $20 ChatGPT Plus subscribers, with initial availability inside the Work section. No information has been provided on possible access for free users.
OpenAI has confirmed a partial outage for ChatGPT Work that began at approximately 11:04 AM ET on August 31, 2026, preventing some users from starting or continuing tasks. The incident particularly affects Plus subscribers and remains ongoing as the company works on a mitigation.
