TL;DRAI · 60 sec read

Microsoft Entra publishes April 2026 updates, including general availability of the Agent ID platform for AI agents with OAuth 2.0, Workday prefetching, iOS certificate authentication, and token lifetime policies. Public previews cover account discovery, ID federation, and app branding. Planned changes include Cloud Sync migrations and SAP integrations from May 2026. These enhance enterprise identity security and AI support.

Microsoft Entra published its April 2026 releases and announcements on April 30, 2026. The update covers general availability, public previews, and planned changes across identity, authentication, provisioning, and network access products.

The Microsoft Entra Agent ID platform reached general availability. It delivers an identity and authorization framework for AI agents using OAuth 2.0, MCP, and A2A standards in enterprise settings. Additional April general availabilities include prefetching Workday termination data, certificate-based authentication support on iOS as a second factor, Microsoft Identity Manager 2016 Service Pack 3, and configurable token lifetime policies.

Public previews launched for account discovery in ID Governance, Microsoft Entra ID federation with External ID, app-based branding themes, and $count filtering in the sign-ins API. Several plan-for-change items address migration from Microsoft Entra Connect Sync to Cloud Sync starting July 2026, updates to SCIM provisioning for modern authentication, and workload identity authentication for SAP SuccessFactors integrations beginning May 2026.

March 2026 entries noted the public preview of Microsoft Entra Backup and Recovery with five-day retention for eligible licenses, Entra Hybrid Join using Kerberos, and synced passkeys. The page also lists earlier October 2025 updates such as soft delete for Conditional Access policies and granular permissions for UserAuthenticationMethod APIs.

CISA Warns Hackers Exploit Patched SolarWinds Serv-U Flaw

CISA warned that hackers are actively exploiting a recently patched high-severity flaw in SolarWinds Serv-U software to crash servers and added it to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog. The agency ordered federal agencies to patch by June 19 and urged all organizations to mitigate the ongoing attacks immediately.

S&P 500 Rejects Fast-Track for SpaceX and AI Firms

S&P Dow Jones Indices refused to waive seasoning, profitability, or public float rules for SpaceX's IPO, blocking accelerated S&P 500 entry that could have unlocked billions in passive funds. The same barriers now apply to expected IPOs from OpenAI and Anthropic, limiting exposure of retirement assets to unprofitable AI bets.

New York Passes One-Year Moratorium on New Large Data Centers

New York lawmakers approved a one-year moratorium on new large data centers, the first such statewide measure if signed by Governor Hochul. The pause aims to study environmental and energy impacts amid growing AI-driven demand.
