MTG Arena to Add All Past and Future Marvel Sets

Wizards of the Coast is bringing all past and future Marvel sets to Magic: The Gathering Arena beginning June 16, 2025, including retroactive addition of last year's Spider-Man cards. Players with Omenpath equivalents will receive the official versions while keeping both, as the previous licensing workaround ends for Marvel content.

MTG Arena to Add All Past and Future Marvel Sets

All Marvel sets arrive in MTG Arena on June 16, 2025, including the full Spider-Man set, commander decks, and other products. Players who received Omenpath substitutes for these cards now get the real versions in addition to keeping the substitutes. This follows the resolution of licensing issues between Wizards of the Coast and Marvel.

All Marvel sets, both past and future, are coming to Magic: The Gathering Arena. A press release from Wizards of the Coast states, "We're thrilled to announce that Magic: The Gathering x Marvel Super Heroes and all past and future Marvel sets will be coming to MTG Arena." The release adds that MTG Arena fans will experience the full breadth of this release, with all the bells and whistles they'd expect from any other Magic release on MTG Arena.

This change will be implemented on June 16, 2025. The team is retroactively bringing over the cards included in last year's Marvel's Spider-Man set, which previously did not appear in the digital TCG.
All future Marvel-themed sets will skip the Omenpath treatment altogether.

In place of the Marvel's Spider-Man cards, non-Marvel mechanical equivalents were introduced via the "Through the Omenpaths" line of digital exclusives. For example, instead of "Anti-Venom, Horrifying Healer," Arena players could draft "Verilax, the Havenskin." The initiative was first revealed back in April of 2025 to allow inclusion of Universes Beyond cards in MTG Arena while sidestepping costly or challenging licensing issues.

Those licensing issues appear to have been resolved between Wizards of the Coast and Marvel. For players that already have pulled Omenpath versions of the Spidey set, a one-time grant will provide the Spider-Man equivalent in their card library. These players will retain the Omenpath version as well.

Wizards of the Coast has put together a handy breakdown with full details of what to expect. Alongside the main set of cards, players will have the chance to obtain source material cards showcasing classic comic artwork, such as Namor as the Lord of Atlantis.

Additional Marvel-related digital products include the commander deck leaders, like The Thing, and the unique cards found only in Jumpstart, Beginner, and Scene boxes. All future Marvel-themed sets will skip the Omenpath treatment altogether. This only applies to Marvel Universes Beyond sets so far, and Through the Omenpaths has not been eliminated.
