Elon Musk said on October 4, 2026, that he will rename SpaceXAI, SpaceX's artificial intelligence unit, to SpaceXSI.

Musk confirms the rebrand on X. He posted that "No more AI" and that "SI" was better. He then replied to a user that the company would make the change. At the time of the posts, SpaceXAI's X account and site still showed the old name, and Musk gave no timeline.

Trump pushes the new terminology. Trump has pressed to replace "AI" with "super intelligence" and "SI." In late September he signed an executive order directing federal agencies to use those terms in official communications where the law allows. Musk's posts came the same weekend as that wider push.

No official SpaceX link to a new federal force. Reporting the same day described a Trump administration Super Intelligence Force to coordinate federal work in the sector. No official announcement ties SpaceX to that group.
