Nintendo Launches Choose Your Game Switch 2 Bundle

Nintendo launches the Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle for $499.99 from early June, offering a digital copy of Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia. The bundle saves $20 to $30 on the game before the bare console price rises to $499.99 on September 1. It lasts while supplies remain.

Nintendo will offer additional purchasing options for the Switch 2 ahead of a price increase. From early June, the company will sell the Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle, which includes a download code redeemable for a digital copy of either Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia.

The bundle is priced at $499.99. This matches the price of the Mario Kart World bundle that launched with the system. The offer effectively prices the chosen game at $50, delivering a saving of $20 to $30 depending on the title.

From Sept. 1, customers will pay $499.99 for a Switch 2 with no game included. The new bundle is available in the period before that change takes effect. It is positioned as a way to select from three high-quality games.

Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza were Nintendo's two big first-party games from the Switch 2's launch period. Pokémon Pokopia is a spinoff, not a mainline Pokémon game. In Japan it is technically published by The Pokémon Company and not Nintendo itself.

The title has been a sleeper hit, surprising even Nintendo with the strength of its sales. Nintendo revealed in a recent set of financial results that Pokopia had sold over 4 million copies in just five weeks. Its appeal to a certain vintage of nostalgic Pokémon fan makes it a fit for the bundle, even if none of the three games is quite the gold-standard system-seller of a Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The bundle will only be available for a limited time while supplies last. Those considering a Switch 2 purchase in the next few months before the price rises should act fast, as they will have only three months before the Sept. 1 change.
