Xbox Games Showcase 2026 Delivers Release Dates and Trailers for Gears, Halo, Fable

The Xbox Games Showcase 2026 aired on June 7 with new trailers, release dates and gameplay reveals from first-party studios and third-party partners.

Gears of War: E-Day opens the event with extended gameplay and a firm release date. The Coalition presented a new trailer featuring a young Marcus Fenix and Dom during the Locust Horde's initial Emergence Day attack. The prequel launches October 6, 2026, as an Xbox console exclusive. It runs on Unreal Engine 5 and features more linear gameplay than Gears 5. An E-Day Direct followed the main showcase for a deeper dive.

Halo: Campaign Evolved receives a new trailer and July 2026 release. The remake of the 2001 Halo: Combat Evolved single-player campaign adds three new missions that include space combat. It supports cooperative play but excludes competitive multiplayer. The title arrives July 28, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. It marks the first Halo game built in Unreal Engine 5.

Fable reboot sets February 2027 launch after delay confirmation. Playground Games showed a new trailer that highlights a darker tone with Hayley Atwell voicing the villain. The open-world RPG lets player decisions shape the story of Albion. It launches February 23, 2027.

Multiple RPGs and remakes land on Game Pass day one with specific dates. Persona 4 Revival arrives February 18, 2027, on PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X with a visual overhaul and content from Persona 4 Golden. Persona 6 received its debut trailer and also comes day one to Xbox Game Pass. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy earned a new trailer and day-one Game Pass availability. Clockwork Revolution from inXile Entertainment arrives in 2027 as an Xbox console exclusive with no PS5 version.

Third-party partners bring new entries and updates across genres. Sega's Crazy Taxi: World Tour reboot features a modernized San Francisco-inspired map, original driver Alex, and new activities such as a fishing minigame. It launches in 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse gets a new trailer and October 15, 2026, release. State of Decay 3 appears in a new trailer for a 2027 window. Metro 2039 from 4A Games arrives February 2027. Minecraft Dungeons 2 launches September 29, 2026. Valor Mortis, a first-person action soulslike from the Ghostrunner developers, releases September 24, 2026.

Additional reveals include expansions, shadow drops and hardware. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 closed the show with a first look at its DMZ extraction mode, separate from campaign and multiplayer. Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations expansion launches July 7. Ninja Theory's new Senua game arrives in 2027 with expanded combat. Where Winds Meet shadow-dropped on Xbox with its Hidden Mountain DLC due in July 2026. An Xbox Series X 25 Limited Edition console with translucent design inspired by the original Xbox arrives in November 2026 alongside a matching controller. Star Trek: Shadow Frontier from Bloober Team and Paramount Games Studio introduces a sci-fi psychological thriller set in the Next Generation era that features Ro Laren voiced by Michelle Forbes.
