Perplexity rolls out a native Comet AI browser experience for iPad with support for multitasking features like multiple windows and Split View. The browser combines web browsing with an AI chatbot powered by OpenAI, Anthropic, and other models, following prior Mac and iPhone launches. Users can now run Comet alongside other iPad apps.

Perplexity rolls out a new native Comet experience for iPad, adding support for iPadOS multitasking features like multiple windows and Split View.

The update enhances the AI-powered web browser, which combines browsing with an AI chatbot powered by models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and others. Previously, Comet launched on Mac before arriving on iPhone in March, with only basic iPad support.

Comet now works alongside other iPad apps, the company announced on Twitter. "Today we’re rolling out a new native Comet experience for iPad," the Comet account posted. "Comet now works naturally with iPadOS features like multiple windows and Split View, so you can work with Comet alongside the apps you already use. Available now on the App Store."

Perplexity positions Comet as an early entrant in the AI-browsing space.

CISA Warns Hackers Exploit Patched SolarWinds Serv-U Flaw

CISA warned that hackers are actively exploiting a recently patched high-severity flaw in SolarWinds Serv-U software to crash servers and added it to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog. The agency ordered federal agencies to patch by June 19 and urged all organizations to mitigate the ongoing attacks immediately.

S&P 500 Rejects Fast-Track for SpaceX and AI Firms

S&P Dow Jones Indices refused to waive seasoning, profitability, or public float rules for SpaceX's IPO, blocking accelerated S&P 500 entry that could have unlocked billions in passive funds. The same barriers now apply to expected IPOs from OpenAI and Anthropic, limiting exposure of retirement assets to unprofitable AI bets.

New York Passes One-Year Moratorium on New Large Data Centers

New York lawmakers approved a one-year moratorium on new large data centers, the first such statewide measure if signed by Governor Hochul. The pause aims to study environmental and energy impacts amid growing AI-driven demand.
