Correction (Oct 13): An earlier version omitted Riot's 76,000+ rank-manipulation bans and used 'eliminated'/'kicked' for some categories. The official 13.08 patch notes list all six banned counts, including rank manipulation.

Riot Games banned 171,000 cheaters from VALORANT between August 18 and October 1 as part of the 13.08 patch rollout.

Riot details anti-cheat penalties in latest update. In the official 13.08 patch notes, Riot said that during Act 5's detection period (August 18 to October 1) it banned 171,000+ cheaters, 54,000+ botters, 76,000+ accounts for rank manipulation, 74,000+ for toxicity or comms abuse, 288,000+ for repeated AFK/gameplay abuse, and 14,000+ for using streamsniping and/or instalocking tools.

New map rating system added to game. The update introduces a map rating function that assigns players a numerical score from 0 to 500 based on overall win rate, attacker win rate, defender win rate, and performance score. Players also receive a letter grade ranging from C to S for each map.

Competitive map pool sees changes. Corrode received major pathing and Mid adjustments. The competitive map pool now includes Corrode and Bind while removing Ascent and Split.

Bug fixes address audio and competitive issues. The patch corrects an incorrect threshold display for the Masterful accolade in competitive mode. Several audio bugs were fixed, including missing footstep sounds in Fog of War, incorrect bodyfall locations, and gun bounce events that failed to trigger. A scope reticle misalignment on the Warden weapon during full auto fire was also resolved.
