Apple plans late 2026 MacBook Pro with OLED display, first touchscreen, Dynamic Island hole-punch camera, thinner design, and M6 2nm chips outperforming M5 Pro/Max. OLED delivers true blacks, superior contrast, and vibrant colors versus mini-LED as pixels turn off completely; macOS adds touch optimizations like enlarged menus, pinch-to-zoom, and faster scrolling.

Apple is expected to debut one of its biggest MacBook Pro updates ever late this year, following last month's refresh. The overhaul features OLED display technology—the first use of OLED in a Mac, according to sources including Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg. OLED delivers true blacks, superior contrast, and more vibrant colors versus mini-LED, as each pixel can turn off completely.

Bloomberg reports the new MacBook Pro will introduce Apple's first touchscreen Mac. macOS receives touch optimizations, dynamically enlarging menu bar items for finger use, plus support for pinch-to-zoom and faster scrolling.

The notch gives way to a hole-punch camera cutout with Dynamic Island, akin to the iPhone. Apple aims for a thinner design, powered by efficient M6 processors on 2nm architecture that boost performance and efficiency. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman notes the M6 models will surpass current M5 Pro and Max variants, possibly rebranded as MacBook Ultra, launching in October or November alongside existing M5 models.

CISA Warns Hackers Exploit Patched SolarWinds Serv-U Flaw

CISA warned that hackers are actively exploiting a recently patched high-severity flaw in SolarWinds Serv-U software to crash servers and added it to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog. The agency ordered federal agencies to patch by June 19 and urged all organizations to mitigate the ongoing attacks immediately.

S&P 500 Rejects Fast-Track for SpaceX and AI Firms

S&P Dow Jones Indices refused to waive seasoning, profitability, or public float rules for SpaceX's IPO, blocking accelerated S&P 500 entry that could have unlocked billions in passive funds. The same barriers now apply to expected IPOs from OpenAI and Anthropic, limiting exposure of retirement assets to unprofitable AI bets.

New York Passes One-Year Moratorium on New Large Data Centers

New York lawmakers approved a one-year moratorium on new large data centers, the first such statewide measure if signed by Governor Hochul. The pause aims to study environmental and energy impacts amid growing AI-driven demand.
