Verified by quality watch 2026-10-12 20:53 AST against NVD CVE-2026-82101/82103/82110 (received Oct 12 23:17Z; CNA psirt@us.ibm.com; CVSS 3.1 9.6, vectors S:C with C:N/I:H/A:H, C:H/I:H/A:N, C:N/I:H/A:H; CWE-22/200/22) and IBM bulletin node 7288649 (published Sept 21, 2026; affected 5.4.0.0; fix: upgrade to 5.4 patch 7 or later; no workarounds; bulletin lists ~29 CVEs incl. CVE-2026-16346 at 9.9). The '9.6 not in source' hold was a false positive. Edits: reframed as new CVE records for an already-patched bulletin, added fix, attributed scores to IBM PSIRT, hedged with 'could'.

NVD published records on Oct. 12 for three vulnerabilities in IBM DataStage on Cloud Pak for Data 5.4.0.0 that IBM rates 9.6 CVSS: CVE-2026-82101, CVE-2026-82103 and CVE-2026-82110. A logged-in attacker could cause a denial of service, obtain sensitive information or execute code. IBM's fix, 5.4 patch 7, has been available since September.

NVD published records on Oct. 12 for three vulnerabilities in IBM DataStage on Cloud Pak for Data version 5.4.0.0: CVE-2026-82101, CVE-2026-82103, and CVE-2026-82110.
CVE-2026-82101 enables denial of service through path traversal.
IBM rates each one 9.6 on the CVSS scale. The scores come from IBM's own product security team (PSIRT), which filed the records. NVD has not published its own scores yet. All three require an attacker who is logged in, but can be exploited over the network with low complexity and no user interaction.

What each flaw does. According to IBM, CVE-2026-82101 is a path traversal flaw that could let an attacker cause a denial of service. CVE-2026-82103 could expose sensitive information to an unauthorized user. CVE-2026-82110 is a path traversal flaw that could let an attacker execute arbitrary code.
CVE-2026-82110 permits arbitrary code execution via improper pathname validation.

The fix has been available since September. All three appear in IBM's Sept. 21 security bulletin for DataStage on Cloud Pak for Data, which covers more than two dozen flaws in version 5.4.0.0, including one IBM rates 9.9 (CVE-2026-16346). IBM says to upgrade to 5.4 patch 7 or later and lists no workarounds.
