Apple today announced Apple TV 4K (4th generation), with Siri AI, an A19 chip and a new four-speaker surround sound option.

Siri AI goes full screen. The new Apple TV 4K brings Siri AI to the TV with a full-screen experience for searching and discovering shows and movies. Apple's examples include asking which Apple TV shows won at the Emmy Awards, or asking follow-up questions while watching, with answers shown in a compact overlay. With an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone, Siri AI can also use a user's personal context.

Hands-free with far-field microphones. Apple TV 4K now has three far-field microphones, so users can talk to Siri without the remote. Apple says echo cancellation isolates a user's voice even while audio is playing.

A19 chip and a smarter remote. Apple says the A19 chip delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance than the previous generation, and adds a dedicated AV1 decoder. The Siri Remote keeps its familiar design and adds Find My support with Precision Finding and the option to play a sound.

Four-speaker surround sound. For the first time, users can create a four-speaker surround sound setup with Apple TV 4K (4th generation) and HomePod mini 2. HomePod (2nd generation) also works in the setup as long as the front and rear speaker pairs match. Apple says the speakers recognize their position in the room and calibrate audio timing and levels automatically.

Home hub upgrades. As a home hub, Apple TV 4K shows doorbell notifications on the TV and adds Apple Intelligence-generated camera activity descriptions and summarized notifications.

Price and availability. Apple TV 4K (4th generation) costs $299 (U.S.) or $49.83 (U.S.) per month for six months. Customers in the U.S. and 29 other countries and regions can pre-order starting today, with availability in stores beginning Friday, November 13.
