GM deploys Google's Gemini AI to four million US vehicles from 2022+ Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC models with Google built-in via over-the-air updates over months. The upgrade replaces Google Assistant with smarter AI for natural conversations on tasks like messaging, navigation, and music suggestions. It starts in US English with plans for more markets.

General Motors plans to bring Google’s Gemini AI assistant to around four million vehicles across the US, according to GM's announcement.

Model year 2022 and newer Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC vehicles equipped with Google built-in qualify for the upgrade. GM rolls it out via over-the-air software updates to its infotainment system over several months.

The update shifts from the current Google Assistant to a smarter, more intuitive AI that improves over time, GM states. It handles tasks like sending messages, navigation, and music suggestions, while enabling more natural, conversational interactions without memorized commands.

Gemini launches in US English, with plans for additional GM markets and languages. Separately, GM reports one billion hands-free miles driven in nearly 750,000 Super Cruise-enabled vehicles on compatible US and Canada roads.

CISA Warns Hackers Exploit Patched SolarWinds Serv-U Flaw

CISA warned that hackers are actively exploiting a recently patched high-severity flaw in SolarWinds Serv-U software to crash servers and added it to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog. The agency ordered federal agencies to patch by June 19 and urged all organizations to mitigate the ongoing attacks immediately.

S&P 500 Rejects Fast-Track for SpaceX and AI Firms

S&P Dow Jones Indices refused to waive seasoning, profitability, or public float rules for SpaceX's IPO, blocking accelerated S&P 500 entry that could have unlocked billions in passive funds. The same barriers now apply to expected IPOs from OpenAI and Anthropic, limiting exposure of retirement assets to unprofitable AI bets.

New York Passes One-Year Moratorium on New Large Data Centers

New York lawmakers approved a one-year moratorium on new large data centers, the first such statewide measure if signed by Governor Hochul. The pause aims to study environmental and energy impacts amid growing AI-driven demand.
